Heating leak beneath a bathroom floor in Camberwell
The heating lost around one bar every twelve hours. Tracer gas led to a failed fitting beneath the bathroom floor.
What was happening
A Camberwell homeowner reported falling heating pressure and damp in the bathroom. A previous repair had already opened part of the floor.
What the engineer did
Moisture readings were high, but thermal imaging showed no clear anomaly. After isolating and draining the boiler circuit, the engineer used pressure testing and tracer gas to narrow the search.
What was found
Opening the bathroom floor exposed a leaking 15 mm copper fitting near the earlier repair.
What happened next
ADI replaced the faulty section with copper pipe and soldered couplers. Retesting found no further leak, and the heating and hot water were checked. The floor needed to dry before retiling.
